Bringing the Sea to Life: The Art of Hand-Cut 3D Nautical Charts
At Landfall, I take the timeless beauty of nautical charts and transform them into striking, hand-crafted works of art. Each piece is a celebration of maritime heritage, geography, and craftsmanship — designed to bring the coastline to life in three dimensions.
Craftsmanship Rooted in Precision and Passion
My charts are not printed replicas or mass-produced pieces. Every one of my 3D charts is meticulously hand-cut, layer by layer, from nautical charts. This traditional approach allows me to preserve the fine details, colour palettes, and textures unique to each region.
The process requires patience, precision, and a deep appreciation for the sea. Each contour line, depth mark, and coastal feature is carefully considered, giving every chart a tactile and visual depth that resonates with anyone who loves the coast.
A Tribute to Maritime Landscapes
Whether it’s the sweeping bays of Plymouth Sound, the winding course of the River Dart, or any other cherished stretch of water, my 3D charts are designed to be as personal as they are beautiful. Finished in elegant frames these artworks become focal points in homes, offices, and marine settings.
They're perfect for sailors, coastal dwellers, and anyone with a connection to the sea. Many of my clients commission custom pieces to commemorate special locations — where they learned to sail, where they grew up, or where they were married by the shore.
The Charts Behind the Craft
I source my nautical charts from trusted publishers, ensuring accuracy and authenticity in every layer. These charts don’t just guide mariners — they tell stories of harbours, headlands, and hidden depths. At Landfall, I give those stories a new dimension.
Commission Your Own Chart
If you have a location that holds meaning for you, I’d love to bring it to life in a bespoke 3D chart.
