Bespoke | Handmade | Artwork | Est. 2013
Originally from Exmouth Peter graduated from the University of Southampton in 2000 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent 13 years working within the Automotive Engineering Industry as a Test and Development Engineer. This included 3 seasons with the Red Bull Racing Formula One Team. In July 2013 he returned to his home county of Devon and turned his hobby into a small business. He now puts the skills and attention to detail learnt from his engineering career into all his artwork to ensure the highest quality product is produced. Peter is married to wife Adele, a secondary school teacher, and has a 11 year old son Jonas and 7 year old daughter Martha. They now live in Hemyock, Devon within the Blackdown Hills area of outstanding natural beauty. With the business growing steadily since 2013 Peter is now making 3D nautical charts on a full time bases. He has produced models for private and commercial clients from Canada, USA, The Caribbean as well as through out the UK.
My work can be viewed at the following locations:
This really depends on the size / complexity of the chart, the choice of frame and the cost of licensing the data. I offer a range of framing options which will be presented in my written quotation.
The Pioneer range offers the same quality hand-crafted art supplied in a factory made frame which is finished with plexiglass. This is a great introduction to my work and ideal as a gift. Prices for these start from £125 for a 12"x12" frame.
The Voyager range of frames are a quality, made to order product. These can be finished with anti reflective glass and offer more options such as choice of mount colour, carbon fibre backing and surround lighting.
There are a number of options available and I will try to work within your budget. Commissions start from £275 (A4), £400 (A3), £600 (A2) and from £800 (A1). These prices include the frame but exclude delivery.
Landfall 3D Art were commissioned by the Caribbean based Cooper Island Beach Club to make a series of 3D Nautical Charts of the British Virgin Islands for the resort’s Rum Bar. The layout of the bar was discussed and Landfall created 4 pieces of artwork from original Imray charts. Each piece was mounted in a bespoke hand painted frame with Tru-Vue anti reflective glass. The artwork was then transported to London, by Landfall, before being shipped onwards to it’s new home in the Caribbean.
Our premium laser cut 3D nautical charts have a cut edge that appears as polished glass and are meticulously assembled by hand. Manufactured from moisture resistant materials they are suitable for environments where moisture and humidity are high, such as on board a yacht or motor boat, as well as within any home or commercial environment.
In the summer of 2017 we supplied our first laser cut model to the RNLI exhibition at the Old Lifeboat House on the Holy Island of Lindisfarne. This project demonstrates the ability of Landfall Artwork to develop innovative custom products for our customers.
